QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS
Q.
Why is the
Buying Golf Equipment series
only available from the www.ardenfogarty.com
site?
A.
Our aims are foremost to provide vital information, whilst keeping
the cost of the book series as low as possible and the quality as
high as possible. To achieve this we have chosen two multi-award winning
‘offset’ printing companies (Thomson Press and Friesens Corporation),
who will deliver us an overall book quality that is beyond that of
‘digital’ printing. We believe that retailing the series from our
own website has enabled us to achieve our aims so far.
Q.
Do Arden & Fogarty distribute part of their annual profits only
to selected foundations?
A.
Yes. Our next scheduled donation date is 1 January 2008. Naturally,
the amounts will be displayed on our website, with specifics set out
for each foundation and geographical area. We are prepared to stand
by what we do and we look forward to your support too, if possible.
Q.
Will the Buying Golf Equipment
series be available at traditional stores or other Internet bookstores
soon?
A.
We have declined publishing, licensing and retailing offers from larger
publishers and various companies at this time. We will inform via
the page LATEST NEWS of any change in
that situation, if it arises.
Q.
Why didn’t the author name golf industry sources or disclose company
names in
Buying Golf Equipment - the step-by-step
guide?
A.
We’ve asked Mark to answer this question. His reply was: “When it
comes to constructive criticism throughout that book, it was deliberately
aimed at virtually all equipment companies and their executives, many
golf retailers, and not at any one person or company. There was no
need or sense in singling out any one entity for over-criticism, though
more important that golfers read and understand the inside story of
what happens with the manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing of
golf equipment across the world. Several companies are named and praised
in a very positive light throughout the book.”
Q.
Why is Buying Golf Equipment - the annual
guide plain and brief?
A.
The theory
behind the annual guide was
to give visual information on selected golf equipment; gear that is
highly recommendable and available with custom options. The manufacturers
displayed have an abundance of technical information available about
their products. The author claims that the
annual guide is “illustrated homework”, a basic and sensible
follow-on to the step-by-step guide.
Arden & Fogarty are planning to make this magazine better with
every edition. We understand that the release of new product models
moves at a fast pace and we count on your ideas and comments before
we produce new editions: annualguide@ardenfogarty.com
