THE AUTHOR - MARK D. WILSON
Mark D.
Wilson was born in Australia and has been a golf equipment retailer,
custom club fitter and instructor since 1988. He describes his role
as being an independent specialist in major brand club fitting and
is not known as a custom club builder or assembler.
The initial ‘D.’
was used in our book titles due to two other golf professionals (in
the US and in Britain) named Mark Wilson being active in the literary
world. What were the chances of three golf professionals and authors
with the same name being around at the same time? We’ll never know
the answer to that one! Mark lists all types of sport, traveling,
film, theatre, reading, collecting and restoring cars, watches and
sports memorabilia amongst his interests.
Having been involved
at retail and wholesale levels of the golf equipment industry - in
seven countries across four continents - our author has thoughtfully
expressed insider knowledge and recalled past events in writing this
book series for you. His original manuscripts for this series were
written in northern Europe during the winter months of late 2003.
Mark spends his
time traveling between North America and Europe. He always looks forward
to meeting golfers at various events and talking with people who have
been encouraged by information provided in his books and in those
of other authors, journalists and golf professionals. Be on the lookout
out for Mark at golf club demonstrator days, where he regularly greets
and assists golfers of all abilities.
